Roomprint Privacy Policy

Effective October 18, 2026

The short version

Roomprint keeps your home records on your iPhone. We don't collect, sell or share your photos or details. The one thing that leaves your phone is a room scan: when you choose to scan a room, still frames from your walkthrough video are sent to our scan service to identify what's in them, and are discarded as soon as the list comes back.

What stays on your device

This information is stored only on your iPhone and in your own iPhone backups (iCloud or computer), which Apple manages. You can delete it at any time by deleting homes or items, or by deleting the app.

Camera and photos

Roomprint uses the camera to photograph your belongings and their labels. Text on labels is read on your iPhone using Apple's built-in technology; it is not sent anywhere. When you choose photos from your library, only the photos you pick are imported.

Room scans

A room scan is optional. When you run one, Roomprint picks a few dozen still frames from your walkthrough video, reads any label text on your iPhone, and sends the frames and that text to our scan service, which uses an AI model (Anthropic's Claude) to name the items and estimate replacement values. The frames are used only to produce that list, are not stored by us, and are not used to train any model. The service keeps a count of scans per day, tied to a random identifier the app makes, to prevent abuse; that identifier is not linked to you, your Apple ID or your phone. The resulting list is saved only on your iPhone, after you approve it.

Face ID

If you turn on Face ID lock, Apple's system checks your face or passcode. Roomprint never receives your Face ID data.

Purchases

Roomprint Pro and room-scan credits are sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment; we never see your payment details.

Sharing

Roomprint only shares a record when you choose to export a PDF or spreadsheet and send it yourself, for example to your email or your insurer.

Analytics and tracking

Roomprint has no analytics, advertising or tracking.

Children

Roomprint is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
